  • "Angel of Arkansas" Industry Presentation

    Nic recently took part in an Industry Presentation of the new musical Angel of Arkansas, with a book, music, and lyrics by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics by Robert Taylor. Directed by five-time Tony winner Susan Stroman, the presentation took place February 23 at Perelman Performing Arts Center. The new work centers on a real-life single mother who became an advocate, activist, and caregiver to AIDS patients in conservative Arkansas in the '80s. The cast starred Kerry Butler as Ruth Coker Burks, with an ensemble company featuring Andy Mientus, Mauricio Martínez, Josh Strickland, Dudney Joseph Jr, Nic Rouleau, James Harkness, Sam Simahk, Jacob Keith Watson, Shavey Brown, Joel Waggoner, Bud Weber, Nicholas Rodriguez, and John Michaelangelo Kraus. The creative team included music director Annbritt duChateau, vocal designer Ann Marie Milazzo, sound designer John Shivers, and score supervisor Jacob Fjeldheim.   • "BROADWAY'S LEADING MEN" with the American Pops

    Nic is proud to join The American Pops Orchestra for Broadway's Leading Men: A Musical Celebration - a concert special to be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 in Washington DC at Howard University, featuring performances of iconic male characters and popular songs that have left a lasting impact on the legacy of musical theater. Bringing together renowned performers and a 29-piece ensemble of The American Pops Orchestra, this evening will inspire the next generation of musical theater stars. Broadway’s Leading Men will be filmed in front of a live audience, featuring some of Broadway’s most celebrated music and brand-new arrangements created specifically for National TV Broadcast. Filming takes place on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Howard University’s Cramton Auditorium, Childers Hall, 2455 6th St NW, Washington, DC 20059, at 7:30pm.   • ALIVE! The Zombie Musical

    Nic is thrilled to join the cast for the upcoming performances of the ALIVE! Josh Canfield's new musical will be presented for seven concert performances, beginning October 8 at Off-Broadway's Theatre 555. Directed by David Ruttura with musical direction by Matt Hinkley, the cast will include Anthony Chatmon II(Hadestown), Robi Hager (Doctor Zhivago), Savy Jackson (Bad Cinderella), Josh Lamon (The Prom), Stephany Mora (Dreamgirls), Mary Page Nance (A Beautiful Noise), Nic Rouleau (The Book of Mormon), Kyle Selig (Mean Girls), and Lauren Zakrin (Once Upon a One More Time). With a book and score by Canfield, the musical follows Shelly Dinkley, a gutsy news reporter who believes zombies are terrorizing her small town. After she is saved from an attack by a zombie who calls himself Zombie6, sparks start to fly between the two as Eve discovers there's more to this decaying hero than just his rotting limbs. The limited engagement will also have lighting design by Tyler Micoleau and musical arrangements by Taylor Peckman. The general manager is LDK Productions. ALIVE! is executive-produced by Lisa Dozier Shacket and co-produced by Barbara Chubb. Show times are October 8 at 8:30 PM, October 9 at 7 PM and 9 PM, and October 15-16 at 7 PM and 9 PM.   • #EstamosUnidos Tour with the American Pops

    Nic was invited by the United States Ambassador to Panama, Mari Carmen Aponte, to join the American Pops Orchestra for a cross-cultural tour celebrating the relationship between the United States and Panama. From June 26-July 1, Nic was joined by vocalist Nova Payton and various members of the APO Orchestra for multiple events throughout the Capital City. Nic recorded a live concert at Teatro Balboa to celebrate America's Independence Day. He performed for students at the ITSE Technical Institute, as well as for community members of the San Miguelito Church. The trip culminated in a Pride Celebration at the Ambassador's Residence in Panama City, honoring her commitment to supporting and fighting for the rights of the local LGBTQIA+ community. Nic plays the role of Tyler Hawkins in Season 1, Michael's coworker who always has something to say, whether Michael wants to hear it or not.   • "MISSING PEACE" READING

    Rhinebeck Writers Retreat will present a reading of Missing Peace, a contemporary Native musical by Kalani Queypo and Kyle Puccia, May 23. The reading, which will follow a table reading and residency as part of the Retreat's Triple R program, will be directed by Devanand Janki (Little Girl Blue) with music direction by Yan Li. The cast includes Glenn Stanton (The Walking Dead), Brandi Porter (A Bronx Tale), and Nic Rouleau (The Book of Mormon). In Missing Peace, Chase wakes up from a coma, but his past is a blur. Much to his family's surprise, he is happy and carefree until the dark memories flood back like quick cuts of a movie trailer that just don't add up. Founding Executive Director Kathy Evans said, “We supported Kyle and Kalani during the pandemic with a virtual residency, and it’s exciting to help bring their musical to life for a New York audience for the first time.” Created in 2011, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat provides a sanctuary for writers to develop their musicals in the heart of the Hudson Valley.     Nic was recently featured on the podcast E-TICKET TO BROADWAY, part of The Broadway Podcast Network. Hosted by David Alpert, the podcast features Broadway Stars chatting all things DISNEY. Nic shares that it was the music from the Disney movies that truly was his gateway into loving the brand--and discusses how watching "The Little Mermaid," "Hercules," and, his favorite "A Goofy Movie" as a kid cemented his love for the Mouse. As a California native, Nic visited Disneyland in his youth, but when he was around 10 years old he visited Walt Disney World for the first time and it was a game-changer. He and David discuss the coincidence of playing a role on Broadway that is equally obsessed with the Orlando Park, and why the Parks are such a magical place to visit.   • NAMT 33rd Annual festival of new musicals

    Nic is thrilled to be a part of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre's 33rd Annual Festival of New Musicals. This year's festival takes place October 21-22, with presentations in an in-person and digital hybrid in collaboration with Broadway on Demand. More information on the festival can be found here. Nic plays the role of Logan in the new musical Missing Peace, which follows a young man as he recovers from a suicide attempt. The show features music and lyrics by Kalani Queypo and Kyle Puccia; direction by Jesca Prudencio; and musical direction by Steven Cuevas.
